The Reece Group have been devastated by the ongoing bushfire crisis. We’re committed to the relief, recovery and rebuild in Australia, however long it takes. In this initial phase as the crisis continues, we have committed $250K of funds that focus on the areas that matter most to our people and customers. As we move to recovery, we’ll be looking at the role Reece can play in supporting the rebuild.
Here’s some of the activities the initial funding will go towards:
For our volunteer firies and defence force reservists, we’ve providing unlimited paid leave. We’re also supporting what’s important to our people and their family and friends, by matching dollar for dollar donations to the Salvation Army Bushfire Relief Fund. By banding together, our aim is to raise over $250K in donations.
We’re providing support for the long term. All customers affected by the crisis can take advantage of free counselling services, and we’re also looking at how we can support their business during the recovery.
We have amazing customers who are already volunteering to help rebuild critical community infrastructure. To support this, we’re expanding the Reece Grant. We’re chipping in $150k to get things started, then, will be using the next six months of proceeds from the Reece Grant to go toward the Bushfire fund, that will support our customers who want to help those most in need with the rebuild.
We’re also making it easy for our customers to donate to The Salvation Army Bushfire Relief Fund, by accepting donations in all our branches and online.
Our branch network is ready to support the rebuild effort. Together with our customers and our people, we’re working hard to raise much needed funds to support the relief effort. Beyond financial support, we’re helping other community initiatives. Our branches are supplying pipe to make wildlife feeders to help the animals affected by fires, and offering further support at a local level, wherever we can.
